MEMBERSHIP - NEW MEMBERS WELCOME.
The Braintree Area u3a provide opportunities for those no longer in full-time employment to come together and develop new interests, make new friends and have fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together. Braintree Area u3a has more that 300 members and many interest and activity groups to get involved with, together with a programme of outings to shows, concerts and places of historical or general interest. A General Meeting for all members is held once a month. You are very welcome to join us if you are retired or semi-retired from paid employment.
New Membership
Braintree Area u3a is a friendly welcoming group with a wide and varied range of interests. If you are thinking of joining, there are a number of ways of applying:
- Contact Membership Secretary.
- Click on the Membership Application Form to view and print an application form.
- Come along to one of our General Meetings for free (held third Wednesday of the month), prior to joining. Membership Application forms will be available at meeting.
Membership Fees
Annual membership runs from 1st January to 31st December. The following fees apply:
One member: £20.00
Two members living at the same address: £35.00.
This includes access to all the monthly meetings, access to all study and activity groups, membership of our national organisation, The u3a Third Age Trust, insurance and a subscription to the u3a magazine called ‘Third Age Matters’.
Please note, fees are reduced if applying from 1 July by £5.00.

Membership Renewal
Your annual Membership renewal due date is 1st January. We would appreciate receiving your application for membership renewal at your earliest convenience. The deadline for membership renewal is 6 weeks after the due date. After the deadline, members who have not renewed will have their membership record marked as lapsed.
Change in Personal Details.
It is important that we have your correct contact details at all times. Therefore, please notify the Membership Secretary of any change of address, telephone number or email address.
